Save the Oranges!

Remember when I wrote a post about two months ago on our orange tree that had started to have some orange oranges? If you don't remember this, take a look here. Well, my family started recently to eat the fruit off the tree, but I am here to tell you: save the fruit!

Haha. I in particular do not like oranges. They are usually too stringy or seedy for me,  so we came up with a solution to get some vitamin C in me! We started
gathering some of fruit the up and made some orange juice. Yum! Well, I did not help actually. Mom did all the work and even took the photos for me. ( I think I was taking some tests that day, but I wanted to do a blog post to finish up the oranges.) Thanks, Momma! She brought out the fruit juicer we got a few years ago and started juicing.

In all, she used 36 oranges. This is all that was left after she finished juicing them. ( The juicer has a strainer so the pulp and seeds were caught.)

These 36 oranges gave us a grand total of 1/2 gallon of orange juice! It was delicious, but ran out fast.

A lot of work for so little juice, but it was worth it to me. ;)

  2. Definitely a lot of work, but quite the sweet treat! And every year that tree produces more and more fruit, so next year should be even better!
