A Trip to the Local Grocery Store

There are many unique things about our area, from the weather, to the scenery, to the Tex-Mex dialect of mixing English in with improper Spanish. If you want to expand the list, all you have to do is go to a local H-E-B store and look around. Even just looking in the produce section is different from the national stores. I thought I would give you guys a brief look into the unique products our area has to offer. (I am not endorsing any specific brands or products, simply providing a glance at uncommon merchandise.) First off, in the produce section of our local H-E-B there is a fruit called jack fruit. Click to enlarge I don't have much to say about this fruit, as I have never tried it; however, I thought it an interesting sight to see a watermelon-sized fuzzy fruit piled in a bin. Also in the produce section is this: Click to enlarge Jicama (pronounced hee-cama) is very similar in texture to a turnip with a taste closer to an apple. Jicama shares the monikers "Me

Monday Munchies: Bacon and Egg Casserole

It has been a while since I have done a breakfast bake, so I have another one for you! This one is a little different from the other breakfast casserole I have shared because this one uses crescent roll dough and bacon instead of sandwich bread and sausage.  For this recipe, you will need: 1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough 6 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 cup or 4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese 8 slices bacon, chopped and baked crisp Pre-heat your oven to 350ยบ F. to start. Here's how you make the recipe!  Now, put the pan back in the oven and let it bake about 25 minutes, or until the center is set. You're done! This is great served fresh from the oven, or saved and reheat later. I hope you enjoyed this recipe, and feel free to leave a comment below or on Facebook.

I must admit, I am actually rather nervous about the days ahead. Today is May 1, and I have exactly two weeks and one day until the end of high school, forever! Following my numbered school schedule, I am set to have my last day of school on May 16, and it is kind of scary. May 16 is my last day. Click to enlarge I've never done this before! I mean, sure, I have finished a school year many times (11 times to be exact!); but, this is the last one. I will not watch another video lesson after May 16. It makes you kind of stop and think, what's next? For me, it is uncharted territory; luckily, however, I have great guides including my parents and both my brothers, who have obviously already graduated as they are older than me. I thought I would look around and see if I could find some other people who share my view that school is coming to a quick end, and I found some great posts on the PCC Campus Blog. Now, I realize that college and high school are different, but you still
