Saturday Sweetly: Going Bananas

You might have guessed from the title of today's post were are making something banana related. And we are; I am going to give you the recipe for a quick and easy banana bread.

Normally, I do not like bananas. I find their mushiness very unappetizing. Banana bread, however, I
love. This recipe comes from the same book (and the same page!) as the zucchini quick-bread I have posted about before.

If you missed that post, you can view it here.  Also included in that post was a very simple peach pie recipe. Now, on to the recipe for this banana bread. Make sure to preheat your oven!

Here is a picture of our ingredients we used while making this bread today.

So, there it is. I hope you enjoy this easy and delicious treat! Do you have any quick-bread recipes you love? Feel free to share them with me through Facebook or the blog comment section below.

  1. I love Banana Bread. I used to make it all the time for my kids when they were little. I always found that the riper the bananas the stronger the flavor. Usually my bananas were beyond anyone wanting to eat them.....very soft. :) A variation you can try would be to add chocolate chips when you add the nuts.

    1. My Mom says she likes to use the ripest bananas she can find. I love chocolate, so I will ask mom about adding the chocolate chips next time. :)

With Apologies to Robert Frost

I have a class for school called Speech. This is supposed to help me learn how to stand properly while speaking, pronounce words properly, and so on. The most recent section is on how to give meaning and feeling to a  poem when reading one out loud. My teacher, Mrs. Autrey, has been reciting poems to us as examples, and she uses a variety such as happy poems, sad poems, thoughtful and so on. One of them that caught my attention was a funny remake of the famous poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost.   The original is one of my favorite poems, and I have always loved the other poetic works of Robert Frost. Here is the original poem: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening By Robert Frost   Whose woods these are I think I know.    His house is in the village though;    He will not see me stopping here    To watch his woods fill up with snow.    My little horse must think it queer

Monday Munchies: Peanut Butter Blossoms

Today's recipe has a little more work involved than some of my recipes I've shared, but the result is worth the effort. The ingredients for these cookies are as follows:
