Saturday Sweetly: Junk Fudge

More fudge! I told you last week I would share another fudge recipe, and here it is. This is the family favorite here, everyone loves this recipe even more than last week's fudge recipe.

Despite it's name, this recipe is not junk. It is actually very similar to
a rocky road fudge, with some differences. Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 11 ounces butterscotch morsels
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
  • 10 ounces miniature marshmallows
  • 1 cup peanuts
Keep in mind, my instructions are for heating the chocolate in the microwave, not on the stove top. Now, the first step is to line a 9x13 pan with wax paper. This has the same purpose as last week, to keep the fudge from sticking and for pulling out the fudge. Next, you will need to:

If the chocolate is not smooth after the above step, microwave it for 10 to 15 more seconds at a time, stirring in between. If you use chunky peanut butter, it will look like this.

Once the chocolate is completely done being heated, let it sit for 1 minute to cool slightly. Afterwards:

Now, the only step left is to let the fudge refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or until it hardens. Delicious! Any Christmas treats you feel like sharing before the season ends? Comment on Facebook or on my blog.

  1. If you've never tried this before, you need to. It's absolutely delicious. The only problem I've ever found with this recipe is that my family expects me to share it with them!

With Apologies to Robert Frost

I have a class for school called Speech. This is supposed to help me learn how to stand properly while speaking, pronounce words properly, and so on. The most recent section is on how to give meaning and feeling to a  poem when reading one out loud. My teacher, Mrs. Autrey, has been reciting poems to us as examples, and she uses a variety such as happy poems, sad poems, thoughtful and so on. One of them that caught my attention was a funny remake of the famous poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost.   The original is one of my favorite poems, and I have always loved the other poetic works of Robert Frost. Here is the original poem: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening By Robert Frost   Whose woods these are I think I know.    His house is in the village though;    He will not see me stopping here    To watch his woods fill up with snow.    My little horse must think it queer

Annual Church Picnic 2015

This is just some of the pictures from a church picnic we had on Saturday. Monday Munchies: Peanut Butter Blossoms

Today's recipe has a little more work involved than some of my recipes I've shared, but the result is worth the effort. The ingredients for these cookies are as follows:
