Sorry this post is a little late! I wanted this project to be done last Sunday, but I kept noticing details that could be added to make it a little better. This post might seem a little random, but it helped me to practice the drawing skills and techniques that I know. This includes: drawing dragon heads, adding small details to half-finished ideas, and adding shading. The idea for this design came from my Mom, when she saw me drawing dragon head designs and challenged me to draw the seven-headed dragon from
Revelation 12:3 "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads." My initial idea looked like this:

I realized that this wouldn't work, for my drawing skills at least, so I changed the design to this:

I wanted a large center head that captured attention, so I worked on that next:

From this point, I moved quickly and kept less copies and saves, so when we see the next picture, I'm close to being done:

Total, I think this project took about two weeks of short work times and lots of thinking. I really enjoyed working on the details of the project and learned some new techniques that I think will be useful for future drawings. I hope you enjoyed this post, and didn't mind the wait. Feel free to leave any comments below or on Facebook.
I think it looks really good. I definitely couldn't draw something like that. The artist gene skipped a generation! :) I haven't seen the design since you started adding the details. It looks very good with the coloration, but I really liked the crowns and especially the steam/smoke coming from the lead dragon's nostrils. That's pretty cool. Great job!
