Recently I took up the hobby of jewelry making. My Nana Edelen said she had some tools and beads she was giving away, and it sparked my interest so I took it to mess around with. It's very interesting, though I had no idea what to do when I first got it. I found some instructions on a box, and just sat and thought a little bit on the rest of it. I eventually made some earrings and gave them away to a friend at church. Read More...
These are the earrings I made for a friend at church. |
I got stumped with the next part of the hobby though: I did not know how to make a bracelet. I had a basic idea, but I was not sure how to finish by putting on the lobster claw (clasp) and the loop at the other end of the bracelet. When we were at church the other day, however, My mom and I were talking to Hermana Martha and she asked if I was still working on the jewelry. She also makes jewelry as a hobby. When I told her I did not know how to put on the clasp or loop, she helped by explaining the entire process to me. When I got home that night, I looked at all my tools and pieces and found the beads and stones I wanted to use. I threaded the beads and had everything ready, then started to think about the instructions Hermana Martha gave me. I followed what she said step by step, and now I have a very pretty bracelet thanks to her help.
I look forward to making more jewelry in the future, and sharing it with you on this blog. Thank you for your help Hermana Martha! :)
