"Christmas Light" Chiles

So, we have a couple of unique plants in our backyard that seem to be fitted perfectly to the Christmas season.

These little chile peppers start to bloom around November and will have their spicy result ready in December. We have been told by various people that these chilies are extremely spicy, though maybe not as much as the local habañero peppers. However, there is a member of our
church, Hermana Martha, who loves these chiles. So, whenever there is a large amount of the red type ready, my Mom picks them and takes them to her. The size of these plant can be very large; here are two examples.

I just thought it would be cute to share a "seasonal" plant that is a unique addition to our shrubbery.

  1. These chiles are small but they have a lot of heat!

  2. They are very spicey. We had college kids from various Hispanic countries come and most knew what they were and were afraid to eat them! The best thing is they grow wild and are very abundant, so we can provide them readily to the folks that want them!

With Apologies to Robert Frost

I have a class for school called Speech. This is supposed to help me learn how to stand properly while speaking, pronounce words properly, and so on. The most recent section is on how to give meaning and feeling to a  poem when reading one out loud. My teacher, Mrs. Autrey, has been reciting poems to us as examples, and she uses a variety such as happy poems, sad poems, thoughtful and so on. One of them that caught my attention was a funny remake of the famous poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost.   The original is one of my favorite poems, and I have always loved the other poetic works of Robert Frost. Here is the original poem: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening By Robert Frost   Whose woods these are I think I know.    His house is in the village though;    He will not see me stopping here    To watch his woods fill up with snow.    My little horse must think it queer

Monday Munchies: Peanut Butter Blossoms

Today's recipe has a little more work involved than some of my recipes I've shared, but the result is worth the effort. The ingredients for these cookies are as follows:
