Today I have for you one of my brother's favorites.

As we were fixing this recipe earlier, August walked into the room and looked at the
recipe to see what we were making. When he read what it was, he said "I love this cake!" So, to make this August-approved recipe, start with preheating your oven to 350ºF and lightly greasing a 9x13 pan. Here's what you will need for this recipe:

  • One box yellow cake mix (approx. 15 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons melted margarine
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 16 ounces can pumpkin
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 14 ounce can condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix this well and pour it over the crust. Now it's ready to bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool, then chill, the cake over night. This is a great alternative to serving pumpkin pie with your leftovers!

  1. You mentioned here August's reaction to this cake. But you were not in the kitchen this afternoon when Braden walked in and this cake was still cooling. He was talking then stopped and said, "Wait, is that Pumpkin Cheesecake? That's my favorite." So this recipe is indeed one of your BROTHERS' favorites!

With Apologies to Robert Frost

I have a class for school called Speech. This is supposed to help me learn how to stand properly while speaking, pronounce words properly, and so on. The most recent section is on how to give meaning and feeling to a  poem when reading one out loud. My teacher, Mrs. Autrey, has been reciting poems to us as examples, and she uses a variety such as happy poems, sad poems, thoughtful and so on. One of them that caught my attention was a funny remake of the famous poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost.   The original is one of my favorite poems, and I have always loved the other poetic works of Robert Frost. Here is the original poem: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening By Robert Frost   Whose woods these are I think I know.    His house is in the village though;    He will not see me stopping here    To watch his woods fill up with snow.    My little horse must think it queer

Monday Munchies: Peanut Butter Blossoms

Today's recipe has a little more work involved than some of my recipes I've shared, but the result is worth the effort. The ingredients for these cookies are as follows:
